Tahoe City’s 2026 2nd Fridays bring fun, creativity, and community energy to downtown through April, with our local businesses at the heart of it all.
The first 2nd Friday of the season kicked off on Jan. 9 with Sip, Shop & Solve, an interactive scavenger hunt that generated excitement, strong publicity, and welcomed additional visitors to town to join in the fun. Building on that momentum, we’re now planning the next three events and inviting businesses to get involved early.
Whether you’re interested in hosting an event, offering a discount, planning a creative maker night, or adding something uniquely your own, now is the time to share your ideas so they can be included in marketing and event scheduling.
2nd Friday Themes
💗 February 13 | Galentine’s Celebration
This day is all about celebrating friendship and fun with friends. Ideas for businesses, studios, and venues to host activities include wine tastings, beaded bracelet making, permanent jewelry, hat bars, heart-shaped cookie decorating, dance nights, DJ parties, spa or facial parties, ladies’ comedy nights, clothing swaps, a Galentine’s brunch. Events can be daytime or evening, and with everyone’s ideas combined, we can create a full day out in Tahoe City to remember. LEARN MORE.
🕺 March 13 | 80’s Retro Day
Retro Day will celebrate all things 80’s, with a special emphasis on vintage ski style. Ideas include retro ski movie screenings (family-friendly), disco dance parties, late-night after-parties, and kid-focused activities. We’re also open to creative ideas like a Big Hair Contest, Neon Face painters, Break Dancing Contests and more! If it fits the 80’s vibe, we want to hear it.
🌷 April 10 | Spring Thaw Shopping Scavenge
This event is all about getting out and enjoying the Springtime Sunshine, all while shopping, eating and drinking along the way. Participants can earn discounts, 2 for 1’s and more by simply finding the yard signs. Some are as simple as taking a selfie, following the business, tagging them and sharing to earn discounts. Businesses are encouraged to offer discounts, deals, drinks, or host small activities or crafts. Early submissions ensure everything can be fully integrated into the scavenger hunt and marketing efforts.

We’re asking businesses to share their ideas NOW so we can maximize promotion, coordination, and impact. Together, we’re working to make Tahoe City and West Shore a place people associate with fun. Where they want to come back, stay longer, and spend locally.
