This year’s Family Orchestra Concert theme, All About the Piano will explore how the versatility of the piano transcends musical genres, musical styles, and musical periods. It will show how the piano is sometimes classified as a “string instrument” and at other times, a “percussion instrument”.
The concert will culminate with the soloists concerto performance with the Classical Tahoe Orchestra by Angel Wang, teenage winner of the first annual Classical Tahoe Piano Competition.
Before and after the Family Orchestra Concert, outside of the pavilion in the courtyard, music lovers of all ages are invited to enjoy and engage with interactive activity stations during the Music Maker Faire. Vendors include Nevada Museum of Art and The Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum.
The Music Maker Faire is free for all.
Tickets for the Family Concert are required. Tickets are general admission. $2 for adults, $1 under 13.
