The Lake Tahoe Dance Collective presents the holiday classic set in 1919 Tahoe City, at the Christmas Eve Celebration at Tahoe Tavern.
LTDC’s production of Tahoe Nutcracker premiered in 2019 and is set in the ballroom of the Tahoe Tavern on Christmas Eve one hundred years ago. This year’s performances will feature guest artists Allison Walsh (formerly Joffrey Ballet) as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Stephen Hanna as her Cavalier (formerly New York City Ballet) and Daniel Baudendistel (formerly American Ballet Theater & Joffrey Ballet) as Herr Drosselmeyer.
Lake Tahoe Dance Collective’s company dancers Elia Schreiber and Amanda Hunt will share the role of the Queen of the Snowflakes, with Isabelle Pullen as the Dew Drop, Miriam Kallmes as Clara, and Ethan Linde as Fritz.
The cast is rounded out by local dancers and community members, including Tahoe native Dan Morrison as the Rat King and choreographer of the battle scene. Morrison holds a masters degree from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and has performed internationally, but made his stage debut as a student at North Tahoe High School.
