Skeleton Scavenger Hunt
💀 Skeletons have taken over downtown Tahoe City!
Join the Hauntober fun Oct. 9-31 and explore downtown to find all the hidden skeletons for a chance to win prizes. It’s a fun, free Halloween adventure for all ages!

Scarecrows on Parade. Vote for your favorite.
Scarecrows have taken over Tahoe City, and it’s time to pick your favorite! Two categories of winners will be selected: local school classes and businesses. Voting is open through Oct. 21.
VOTING: Explore the creative displays around town, scan the QR code, then sign up so we can count your ballot and cast your vote in the Scarecrows on Parade contest.
A verification code will be sent to complete your registration. The easiest option is to provide your phone number to receive the code by text. If you register using email and don’t receive your code, check your spam folder.

Farmers Market & Market Days
Tahoe City Farmers Market is the region’s only market on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Open 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays from May 14 to Oct. 22 on Commons Beach. After you shop the market, enjoy specials deals & discounts at local retailers and restaurants in downtown Tahoe City.

Zombie Crawl
Join the Tahoe City Zombie Crawl on Friday, Oct. 23, for a night of Halloween fun, food and drink specials, entertainment and spooky surprises throughout town. Dress up, visit participating businesses and take advantage of the free event shuttle from Olympic Valley and the West Shore.

Haunted Historic Walking Tours
Step into Tahoe City’s haunted past with guided walking tours featuring ghostly legends, mysterious hauntings and colorful characters from local history. Designed for ages 12+, tours begin outside Sierra Surf Club in the historic Tahoe Inn. Advance registration encouraged as the tours fill up; walk-ins are welcome based on availability.

Fall Harvest Markets
Shop the Fall Harvest Markets inside Boatworks Mall every Thursday from Oct. 29 through Dec. 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Discover seasonal goods, local vendors and more while shopping indoors in Tahoe City. No market will be held on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26.

Placer Artists Tour
North Tahoe galleries will join the Placer Artists Tour for the first time from Nov. 6 to 8, offering an opportunity to meet local artists, explore their work and experience North Tahoe’s creative community.
During the free, self-guided tour, visitors can discover original artwork, learn about the creative process and purchase work directly from artists. More details TBA.

Small Business Saturday & Community Tree Lighting
The holiday season kicks off with shopping and dining local on Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28 with promotions, pop-up events and specials throughout Tahoe City, the West Shore and Alpine Meadows.
NEW in 2026, TCDA introduces a Community Christmas Tree Lighting and celebration at the Tahoe City Winter Sports Park. The Winter Sports Park opens for the season Nov. 28, and the celebration will feature Santa, performances by the Tahoe Lake Elementary School Choir and Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus. Details TBA.

Lake Tahoe Dance Collective presents the 2026 Tahoe Nutcracker Dec. 18-20, featuring New York City Ballet principal dancers Indiana Woodward and Taylor Stanley as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Celebrate the holiday season with this special Lake Tahoe production featuring world-class guest artists alongside local dancers set in 1919 Lake Tahoe. Keep Tahoe Red, White and Blue Beach Cleanup
Each year, Tahoe residents and visitors turn out for one of the community’s largest cleanup of the year to remove litter from Lake Tahoe’s shores. You can help Keep Tahoe Blue by volunteering for the Tahoe City Beach Cleanup on July 5 from 8-11:30 a.m. at Commons Beach. Enjoy mini bagels fresh from TK Mountain Cafe and raffle prizes from our sponsors – Wolfdale’s Cuisine Unique, Yoga Room Tahoe and more.

Lake Tahoe Dance Festival
Lake Tahoe Dance Collective presents the 14th Annual Lake Tahoe Dance Festival from July 21-24, 2026, featuring artists from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Broadway, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, and more. The festival features two performances in Tahoe City on July 23 & 24. The July 24 performance is also the Closing Night Gala. The festival is sponsored by TCDA. University of Nevada, Reno School of Music and Classical Tahoe present a free, outdoor musical performance on July 27 as part of the Chamber Connections program in partnership with TCDA at Heritage Plaza. The performance is from 1-1:45 p.m.
