Meet Ryan Fitzhenry & Kyle R Lancaster, Co-founders of Rotor Collective Digital Cinema & Tahoe City locals!
Ryan (a Los Gatos native) and Kyle (a Reno native) both moved to Tahoe nearly a decade ago. Ryan spent his days at a “suit & tie” desk job in Carson City. Kyle worked as an engineer consultant and spent much of his time traveling away from Tahoe. Even though they didn’t know each other yet, they both yearned for more creative careers.
After meeting skiing one day, they realized one had a background in film, while the other had a background in mechanical engineering. They combined these talents and began their friendship building a multi-rotor drone in May 2013. Piece by piece they started buying more camera and production equipment. In 2014, Rotor Collective was born, now with two offices in North Lake Tahoe – Incline Village & Tahoe City.
Ryan and Kyle are passionate about their video production & drone work because it allows them to learn daily, solve problems, work outdoors and live in an amazing community of like-minded people – Tahoe City!
When not working, you can find the dynamic duo drinking delicious beer at Alibi Ale Works, brewing homebrew, skiing at Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, backpacking or just hanging out with friends on the beautiful beaches of Lake Tahoe.
The sky is the limit for these young entrepreneurs, who will be filming local ski resorts this winter and traveling to Costa Rica to produce assorted media for a surf camp in the spring.
