Break out the neon, tease up your hair, and dust off your vintage ski gear, 2nd Fridays return on March 13 with Retro 80s Ski Day in Tahoe City, the West Shore, and Alpine Meadows.
This high-energy community celebration will spotlight all things 80s, with a special emphasis on vintage ski style. From retro-inspired specials and happy hours to creative art experiences and wine tastings, businesses throughout the region are joining the fun with festive entertainment, activities, and themed events.
“Second Fridays are about bringing the community together and celebrating our small mountain town energy in a fun, creative way,” said Katherine Hill, executive director of the Tahoe City Downtown Association.
What to Expect on March 13
Retro Day is all about celebrating the 80s. Think bright colors, throwback ski style, and community fun. If it fits the vibe, it belongs. Ideas include retro ski movie screenings (family-friendly), disco dance parties, kid-focused activities, late-night after-parties, and creative additions like big hair contests, neon face painting, and break dancing contests.
Businesses have until March 6 to submit their events and specials to TCDA.
