Tahoe City Downtown Association showcases the best of Tahoe
From much-loved cross-country ski races in downtown Tahoe City in February and Wacky Winter Bowling in early March to Fourth of July fireworks and lakeside Oktoberfest, Tahoe City offers engaging year round family activities. Wintertime activities abound for families with children and]teens. Favorites include sledding, skiing and snowboarding, photo shoots with Lake Tahoe as a backdrop, shopping and sampling a variety of restaurants.
“Visitors from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento and New York especially love our local vibe,” shares Stacie Lyans, Tahoe City Downtown Association’s Executive Director. “One of the many reasons residents call our lakefront community ‘home,’ is convenient access to the best ski resorts in the Sierra Nevada. After a day skiing, riding or sledding at Granlibakken Tahoe, Northstar, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows or Homewood, explore Tahoe City’s award winning restaurants and independent shops.”
Tahoe City already looks like a winter wonderland and, according to the National Weather Service, there are more snowstorms in the forecast which bodes well for upcoming winter events. The Tahoe City Downtown Association announces the hottest “Only in Tahoe City” events scheduled for 2015.
