Jaclyn Woznicki was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis after years of many misdiagnoses. She’s a fighter and is doing everything in her power to keep control of her body, but MS is a progressive, degenerative neurological disease and she is really having a hard time. With many lesions on her brain, her symptoms fluctuate between brain fog, vision loss, dizziness & exhaustion to vibrations, numbness, spasticity and pain throughout her body.
In January, Jaclyn will be receiving a treatment called HSCT, or Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant. This is a combination of chemotherapy & the harvesting and re-transplanting of her own stem cells with the intention of halting the progression of MS as well as reversing the damage done to her brain, nerves and body. This procedure will not be covered by insurance.
The Beer Gardeners will be providing funky tunes & Steve Topol is dreaming up games to put the fun in fundraising! There will also be a raffle and a silent auction. Let’s help Jaclyn raise the funds she needs for this treatment so that she can focus on her health & getting well.
We hope that by sharing Jaclyn’s journey we may shed light on HSCT thereby giving hope to others in similar situations. HSCT is not experimental and is approved for treatment of cancer and other autoimmune diseases in this country. With enough exposure, people in the MS community hope to put pressure on the FDA to finally approve HSCT for MS patients, so it will be covered by insurance thereby making it accessible to more people. Thank you for considering to share her story and contribute to her battle against this beast inside her body.
