Major construction projects are scheduled across Highways 28 and 89 and surrounding areas throughout 2025 impacting Tahoe City, the West Shore and North Lake Tahoe.
These include road repaving, broadband installation, trail upgrades, and utility improvements. Expect one-way traffic controls, delays, and some closures. Here’s a snapshot of the projects and links to presentations.
The North Tahoe Chamber will actively support local businesses during road construction by collaborating with Caltrans, Placer County, NTPUD, and TCPUD to keep businesses informed about construction schedules and traffic conditions, recommending tools such as Caltrans QuickMap for real-time traffic information and connecting the community to resources such as the Caltrans Traffic Alert weekly update.
Additionally, the Chamber will mitigate the impact of construction and ensure businesses are supported by promoting initiatives like the “Love North Tahoe” program, which encourages residents and visitors to shop locally. If you have any additional ideas on how the Chamber can support business owners during this time, please contact Kimberly Brown at kim@northtahoecommunityalliance.com.
