Help us kick off the 5th Annual Alpenglow Mountain Festival with the critically-acclaimed Mountainfilm, a documentary film festival that showcases nonfiction stories about environmental, cultural, climbing, political and social justice issues that matter. Through Mountainfilm on Tour, the organization touches the lives of over 50,000 people every year and visits more than 100 locations on six continents. This night is made possible by Flylow Gear.
Doors open at 6:15pm, show begins at 7pm. $10, with proceeds to benefit Adventure Risk Challenge (ARC).
Mountainfilm’s mission is to use the power of film, art, and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. This picture-packed evening will serve as an opener for this season’s Alpenglow Sports Mountain Festival, the twice-yearly, nine-day celebration of human-powered mountain sports with over 70 individual events.
Mountainfilm and Mountain Festival share a common goal: inspiring people to get outside and experience the richness that the outdoors has to offer. Whenever and wherever Mountainfilm is on tour, their aim is to educate and inspire beyond the theatre audience. Their educational outreach program, Mountainfilm for Students, introduces students in K-12 public schools to environmental, cultural, and social issues with age-appropriate film programs. In that same vein, during this event, prizes from sponsors will be raffled off, benefitting Adventure Risk Challenge, a local organization whose mission is to empower underserved youth through integrated literacy and wilderness experiences.
