Celebrate the original style of Nordic skiing at this year’s Old Skool Klassic: the classic or striding technique. Unlike our friends at Far West Nordic, who are tech-savvy enough to use Strava, we’re old skool, which means we’ll accept your time if it’s recorded on a Timex start and stop wristwatch. A smartphone. An app like Strava. One bread crumb dropped for every minute you’re skiing. All we ask is that you be honest about your time and stay true to the course.

Time: Of your choosing (8:30am-5:00pm)
Where: Tahoe XC Old Skool Klassic Race Course (map provided upon arrival)
Cost: $20 suggested donation supports TCCSEA Youth Programs. In addition to registration, a valid Tahoe XC trail pass is required.
Dress: The more old skool, the better (think woolly knickers)
Registration
Register online in advance, and you’ll have 4 days to beat your own best time. Before arriving to Tahoe XC, you’ll have to print and sign our waiver (English or Spanish, which you will exchange at our outside ticket window for the Race Course Map. The map will only available in person on the days of the race (Jan 22-25).
Submitting Your Time
To submit your time, you can either write it on parchment and deliver it by carrier pigeon, or email your full name and the best time to [email protected].
We encourage you to race this course as many times as you want between Jan 22 and 25th. Test different hard waxes, try zeros or skins, as conditions permit. Try to beat your own PR. Our only requirement is that you employ Classic (striding) technique and stay on the course outlined on the map.
Choose your strategy well (wax, skis, trail conditions) because this year’s Old Skool Klassic is a true testament of adapting to the times.

If for any reason this event is canceled, postponed, or cut short, we will be unable to give money back. Thank you for your donation.
