Our friends at the Tahoe Mill Collective, the gorgeous shared workspace at the base of Alpine Meadows, are hosting a new and exciting Tailgate Talk during Mountain Festival!
Pecha Kucha—Japanese for chit chat—celebrates visual storytelling through short, captivating slideshows. Each presenter showcases 20 slides, with 20 seconds on each image, to tell their story. This PechaKucha presentation will bring together stories from the mountains, the backcountry, and the Tahoe community. We’ll hear from guides, writers, activists, gear makers, and changemakers. The lineup includes Tahoe Food Hub’s Susie Sutphin, Flylow Gear’s Dan Abrams, Protect Our Winters’ Kerstin Ulf, Mountain Festival photographer Scott Rokis and more.
The event is free and those who are interested in community, entrepreneurial stories, the environment and winter recreation are encouraged to join!
The Tailgate Talks have become a cherished tradition at Alpenglow Sports over the past 11 years, with the intention to bring the greater North Lake Tahoe community together to learn about and celebrate the various aspects of the mountains that we all love, at no cost. Bringing in a series of speakers and athletes passionate about their respective sports, the environment, and the greater community, the Tailgate Talks are the ultimate way to come together and connect with our neighbors. We look forward to seeing you there!
Beverage sales at Tailgate Talks for Mountain Festival will benefit the Tahoe Backcountry Alliance.
