The Tahoe City Waterfront Tour was developed in 2013 to celebrate the town’s 150th anniversary, known as TC150. This fun and informative tour focuses on Tahoe City and the beautiful waters of Lake Tahoe throughout its history. Find out the 3 reasons water is let out of Lake Tahoe, why the SS Tahoe was scuttled in the lake, how the railroad went right through Commons Beach, and why Tahoe City has a jail with a view of the lake! We also talk about historic sailing and racing boats, and Tahoe City’s past. The tours are led by professional tour guide and longtime resident Karen Willcuts.
