Alpenglow Sports is excited to announce Tailgate Talk #5 on Thursday, November 2nd at 6:30pm, a night with Jeremy Benson and his new California backcountry ski and snowboard guidebook.
Benson is Tahoe-based pro-skier and backcountry expert, and his guide is sure to get you stoked for the upcoming ski season. Detailing 97 of the state’s best routes, the critically acclaimed “Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Routes: California” is a must have as winter draws near.
From Mount Shasta to Mount Whitney, this guide will give you exceptional route recommendations in any neck of the woods. The guide is written with intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders in mind, detailing the best slopes the Sierra has to offer. Trips range from quick daytime escapes to challenging overnight expeditions. Each trip description includes elevation and distance data, skill level and recommended season. In addition to giving readers detailed insight on when and where to get the best turns and freshest tracks, it also includes resources for avalanche information, weather and road conditions, relevant land management information, snow reports, and safety advice.
Join us at Alpenglow Sports on November 2nd at 6:30pm to welcome winter with Jeremy Benson and his guidebook, “Backcountry Ski and Snowboard Routes: California.” Benson will begin with a slideshow talk to give us all the inside scoop on the routes he describes in his guide. He will follow his presentation with a Q & A session and book signing. The guide will be available for purchase during the event. If you are stoked for the backcountry ski and snowboard season, join us for this must see presentation.
Entry is $5.00 at the door. Come talk routes, turns, and powder over a beer with Jeremy Benson. We will be pouring Sierra Nevada with proceeds benefitting the Sierra Avalanche Center, the Tahoe Basin’s number one source for up to date avalanche information and safety advice. Pre-sale tickets will not be sold, just come to Alpenglow Sports at 6:30pm on November 2nd for beers and backcountry banter. You won’t want to miss this talk; after all, winter is coming.
