In “Dreamer by Design,” the third show of the season, Sierra based snowboarder Nick Russell shares his story of how an East Coast transplant manifested a childhood vision turned into reality.
As humans, we have an innate desire to explore the world around us. It is that thirst for firsthand adventure that has led Nick around the world in search of a dream. Over the past two decades, he has steadily found his path into the mountains and into a fresh line through life. From the highs and lows that accompany any passionate pursuit, join along as Nick shares his story of how an East Coast transplant manifested a childhood vision turned into reality.
By utilizing human power fueled by a splitboard and a healthy appetite for stepping outside of perceived comfort zones, Nick’s adventures have spanned mountain ranges across six continents. He will speak to the freedom associated with dirtbagging, the importance of maintaining a positive attitude in the face of despair and conservative decision making in consequential terrain. Tune in as Nick re-lives a few memorable adventures from the highest peaks of Alaska, snowboarding alongside penguins in Antarctica and completely winging it in remote mountains across South America, the Middle East, Asia and beyond.
We are excited to welcome the community back to in-person shows at Olympic Village Lodge, but only in a limited capacity with Covid-19 safety precautions in place. Proof of vaccination, valid identification and masks are required for entry, without exception. There will be limited capacity (350 total) seating so please arrive early. We, just like you, are DYING to gather again as a community. Accordingly, while we will still have our massive giveaway for each show, we will NOT be conducting it in-person for Covid safety reason. All giveaway tickets must be purchased online (NOT in-person) and winners will be notified after the event. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for guaranteed seating. We realize this isn’t perfect but gathering will be SUCH a win … and hopefully we’ll get back to our traditional model next fall. For those who cannot make the shows at Palisades Tahoe, we will continue to present each show in a virtual capacity.
