Now more than ever, the Young Dancer’s Workshop offers a world-class training opportunity during the COVID-19 crisis. Dancers ages 10+ are invited to spend three weeks with Lake Tahoe Dance Festival collaborators and teachers studying technique and repertoire to be performed at the Festival performances alongside Festival artists, at a limit of 4 per class with all safety protocols and social distancing measures in place to ensure everyone’s health. The intensive is aimed at refining technique while enhancing and promoting the artistic growth of participants. Ballet and modern dance techniques will be taught daily, with an additional class in filmmaking for dance done virtually.
Students are placed in groups according to technical proficiency to maximize their potential for growth and learning throughout the course of the workshop. Because of our 4-person class size limit, scheduling will follow your registration. Workshop classes are scheduled Monday through Friday, with a detailed schedule to follow based on placement. Note that each group’s daily sessions will last 3 hours at the studio, and an additional session for the video production class on zoom in the evenings.
Attendance in all classes is required. In place of our traditional Lake Tahoe Dance Festival Performances, we will have three evenings of online showcases and a session that shows the students’ works they create in the film classes, as well as a demonstration of their modern technique that will be filmed.
Tuition for the workshop is $900.
