Meet Amie Quirarte of Tahoe Luxury Properties. Amie is a native Californian with a passion for exploration and a heart bigger than Lake Tahoe. We are truly honored to have Amie call Tahoe City home!
Amie was born in the sleepy surf town of Pacifica, CA just outside of San Francisco. Amie’s childhood was anything but easy. Her father passed away when she was just nine years old. Her mother dealt with substance abuse issues and Amie’s adolescence was filled with uncertain circumstances and immense personal struggle. At a time when most would lose hope in humanity, Amie used these challenges as a catalyst to break herself free of the same kind of life.
Amie got her first job at Outback Steakhouse when she was just 13 years old. She worked for everything she had because she had no other choice. She credits her childhood for instilling in her a sense of work ethic and intrinsic motivation. This same work ethic propelled her through High School and she graduated and went to Santa Barbara City College Amie was walking down the halls of SBCC when she came across a flyer on the wall promoting studying abroad in Paris. Having never left the country, Amie felt this was a great opportunity to get out of California and see some of the World!
Amie was quickly bitten by the travel bug after her time in Paris and made it a mission to travel as much as she could. Since that time Amie has traveled to over 24 countries spanning multiple continents.
After Amie finished college she moved to Lake Tahoe and got her first job at Sugar Bowl Resort. It was at Sugar Bowl that Amie met her future husband Cliff. Amie was not intending to stay in Tahoe for long, but she soon found herself drawn to the strong sense of community and togetherness the North Lake Tahoe area provided.
Following a season at Sugar Bowl, Amie traveled to Europe for 6 weeks. While in Europe, Amie came across an online job posting for an entry-level position at Tahoe Luxury Properties. Amie took the position when she returned to the Basin and quickly found herself in love with the company. The support and care that she felt in the organization made her committed to the company. “They are so much more than a company. They are my family. They create a great life for every employee there.”
Amie goes on to tell a story of when she was living on Donner Summit with a 2wd car commuting to the Tahoe City office. She tried to never miss a day of work but saw her fair share of challenges with weather. Owner of Tahoe Luxury Properties, Kelly Dietz, caught wind of Amie’s commute and loaned her a 4wd car for the rest of the winter. It is easy to see why one would feel a connection to Tahoe Luxury Properties!
Amie worked her way up through the ranks over the next few years and is now a licensed Real Estate Agent for Tahoe Luxury properties. Amie has seen her business steadily grow over the last four years and her sales exceeded 17 Million in 2017. Amie sees her job as way more than that. She sees her job as an opportunity to help get her clients to the finish line.
In Amie’s free time you can find her enjoying many outdoor activities or volunteering/fundraising for important causes. Recently, Amie organized a fundraiser which raised of $6,000 for fire victims in Santa Rosa. Amie also serves as the Committee Chair for the Tahoe City Oktoberfest and is a former Board Member of the Tahoe City Downtown Association.
Needless to say, we are lucky to have Amie in our community!
