Summertime is just around the corner, and after a long winter, locals and visitors alike are looking forward to one of our favorite traditions – patio dining with friends and family overlooking our incredible Lake Tahoe. One of the best places to enjoy this summertime tradition is Jake’s on the Lake.
Family owned and operated since 1978, Jake’s On The Lake is the ultimate waterfront dining experience in Lake Tahoe! Soak in spectacular views of the lake and enjoy an incredible meal while you are treated to warm “Mountain Aloha” hospitality. Featuring an abundant variety of fresh seafood, succulent meats, and seasonal produce Jake’s menu is inspired by both Californian and Hawaiian flavors.
While you are enjoying your fresh macadamia nut crusted halibut, scallops, fish tacos, or any of the other delectable dishes you may see a tall guy with a big smile buzzing around the restaurant helping servers, bussers, and checking on guests. That guy is the one and only, Jeff Hill. Jeff has been the general manager of Jake’s for the past 7 years and has been in the hospitality industry since his very first job at Sunnyside at just 14 years old. Jeff has learned a lot about what makes a great restaurant – he knows what keeps guests coming back time and time again! He has honed his skills with his experience at Sunnyside in Tahoe, Kimo’s in Maui, and Duke’s in Huntington Beach.
Since his Sunnyside days, Jeff has now come full circle, living in his beautiful hometown of Tahoe City with his wife Beth and two little girls Hannah and Harper, ages 7 and 3. Jeff is grateful to have the chance to raise his children where he grew up and pass on his love for Lake Tahoe to them.
Jeff is passionate about his community here in Tahoe City and uses that passion to create a great team of employees at Jake’s. He believes that if you create a fun, exciting, inclusive, and supportive workplace that you will be that much closer to creating a family environment. When work doesn’t feel like work, but an extension of family you get happy employees who in turn are better employees. Whenever you walk into Jake’s you feel the “Mountain Aloha” spirit from all those involved in making Jake’s an award-winning culinary experience.
At Jake’s on the Lake you can harness the Aloha Spirit all year long, but Mai Tais taste especially sweet on the patio. Make your plans to kick off summer now with a visit to Jake’s on the Lake.
