Meet Stacie Lyans, former Executive Director of the Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA) & “Faces of Tahoe City” author, current Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Sierra Nevada College, Lake Tahoe, and Tahoe City local.
Stacie was born and raised in La Crescenta, California (near Los Angeles), but moved north to play college soccer and study Journalism (BA) and Business (MBA) at Humboldt State University (HSU).
After a very short career in television, Stacie changed her career path and began work at HSU in alumni relations and admissions – for more than 10 years.
In 2014, Stacie changed her career path, yet again, and moved from Berkeley to Tahoe City to become the Executive Director of TCDA, allowing her to find a home in paradise and serve an incredible community.
Looking for a new challenge, Stacie returned to higher education as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Sierra Nevada College (SNC)– starting her new chapter just two days ago. (However, she already misses her TCDA friends & family!)
Stacie, and her boyfriend, Gardner, recently purchased their first home in Tahoe City, and she is thrilled to stay in the community she loves and pursue her passion for helping students strive toward higher education – now at SNC.
When not working you can find Stacie snowboarding, playing soccer, enjoying live bluegrass and jam music at Moe’s Original BBQ – Tahoe City and Concerts at Commons Beach, and always smiling.
Whether you need advice about college, Tahoe City, or beyond, Stacie is eager to make a difference!
