NEW TAHOE JOY FESTIVAL CELEBRATES LAKE TAHOE AND ITS VIBRANT MUSIC + ARTS COMMUNITY THROUGH FREE EVENT IN TAHOE CITY
Celebrating Creativity and Community with Local Artists for NEW Music and Arts Festival
North Lake Tahoe/Truckee – May 4, 2023 – The organizers of the Tahoe Joy Festival have partnered with the Tahoe City Downtown Association (TCDA) to host a one-day music festival that will conclude the first weekend of the Solstice Festival on Sunday, June 11th. This family-friendly event will showcase regional bands, youth performers, local artists and makers, as well as food trucks and local breweries and wine selections. In addition, various non-profit organizations will be present to support the Tahoe Truckee School of Music and the TCDA. The festival will take place at the Tahoe City Community Center Field (401 W. Lake Blvd /corner Granlibakken Rd) from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and ALL are welcome to attend.
“At the heart of a thriving community lies a vibrant arts and culture scene, and we are honored to support an event that not only celebrates the creativity of local artisans, vendors, and makers but also gives back to the community via music, a thread that binds us all together,” said Katie Biggers, TCDA executive director.
“The Tahoe Joy Festival started as a simple idea of how to showcase Tahoe’s diverse music scene, bask in its natural beauty, and support nonprofits all in one day,” commented Matt Axton, musician and brainchild of the Tahoe Joy Festival. “I am lucky enough to be born and raised in Tahoe City and my family has been part of the music industry for three generations. Music is a great way to experience connection and community, and this festival is an opportunity for me to share my joy and love of Tahoe.”
Sponsorships: Helping to Spread Joy
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and sponsors, the Tahoe Joy Festival will be a free event for all to enjoy. The organizers have already received a generous in-kind donation from the Tahoe City PUD for the Community Center. However, they are still seeking additional sponsors to help cover expenses associated with hosting a high-quality event. These expenses include rental of a stage, sound and equipment, trash removal, port-a-potties, and other necessary items.
All net proceeds from the festival will be donated to two local non-profit organizations: the Tahoe Truckee School of Music and the TCDA. If you are interested in sponsoring the event and promoting your business, or would like to support the event through a donation, please visit TahoeMusic.net. If you are a local artisan looking for a way to showcase your art, please send an email to [email protected]. Thank you for your support in helping to spread joy throughout our community.
