A King Fire community meeting to update the public on the status of the fire will be held in Squaw Valley at 7:00 p.m. tonight Tuesday Sept. 23rd at Olympic Village Lodge, 1901 Chamonix Place.
On Wednesday Sept. 24th at 7:00 p.m. community meetings will be held in Tahoe City at North Tahoe High School, 2945 Polaris Road and at Foresthill High School, 23319 Foresthill Road in Foresthill. These meetings will provide the public with up-to-date information and answer questions about the fire. The meetings are not a sign that the King Fire poses an imminent threat to any of the three areas. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office and Office of Emergency Services sent out an informational message about this evening’s meeting today via Placer Alert, the county’s new emergency notification system. The system already includes landline telephone numbers provided by telephone companies. Residents are encouraged to sign-up online at www.Placer-Alert.org to receive emergency alerts via mobile telephones, emails and text messages. See attached press release for further information.
