Tahoe City will shine brighter this winter season thanks to this breathtaking 120-foot pine tree. The tree is an ode to the old “Big Tree” that was smack dab in the middle of Highway 28 until 1994. The TCDA has been awarded funds from a Placer County advisory projects grant to light a 110-foot old-growth pine tree in Downtown Tahoe City with nearly 8000 feet of warm-hue white LED lights. Additional support from the Tahoe City Rotary and MJD Capital Partners (The Boatworks Mall & Inn at the Boatworks) We hope this luminous tree serves as a reminder to support Tahoe City all season long. And a BIG thank you to everybody that contributed to all the downtown lighting!
