Inspired by other cleanup efforts around the lake, the Truckee River Trash Cleanup is a collaboration spearheaded by several local businesses – Water for Wellbeing, River Ranch Lodge, The Bridgetender, Crest Cafe, and others.
The event will be held on Tuesday September 8th, 2020 following the Labor Day holiday and the last day of commercial rafting on the Truckee River.
We are vigilant about adhering to social distancing and PPE guidelines and will be providing masks, gloves, trash bags, buckets, pick-up tools etc. However- if you have your own, please bring them so we can limit additional waste being generated by the event.
Teams are limited to groups of up to six from the same household or business with staggered start times and sections. A team leader will be required to register each team in advance. Registration closes at 5 pm Monday, September 7th, 2020. Check-in will begin at 8 am and trash should be turned in to the River Ranch parking lot by 12:30 pm. Details to follow.
Our goal is to clean up the trash in and along the river and bike path from Tahoe City to Squaw Valley.
In the next few days we will be announcing a social sharing competition with great prizes from local businesses.
Friend and local bingo celebrity Rusty Reams will host a live-stream of the trash weigh-ins and raffle drawing to avoid any gatherings.
Detailed event information will be forwarded to team leaders.
Looking forward to this post-Labor Day Cleanup effort with you all!
